Information on the code signing certificates used

The intarsys code-signing certificate, with which intarsys signed the installation wizards, every installed application file and the installation test routine, plays a central role in these checking mechanisms. The certificates used are issued by trust centers that have checked the identity of intarsys. The operating system is thus able to check the correctness of the signature and the certificate. If you do not trust the checking mechanisms of the operating system, you can also check the serial number of the certificate yourself.

Check the integrity of the installation wizard

The Sign Live! CC are signed with the intarsys Code-Signing Certificate. To support both current and older versions of Windows, the signature was carried out using two hash algorithms.

How to check the signature on Windows:

  1. In the file explorer, select the installation wizard file and right-click to activate the 'Properties' option in the context menu. Select the 'Digital Signatures' tab.
  2. Select one of the intarsys signatures and click the 'Details' button to display the details of the signature.
  3. The dialog shows you whether the signature is valid. If this is not the case, the file is no longer in its original state. Contact the manufacturer for an unchanged file. If you do not trust the checking mechanisms of the operating system, you can also check the certificate itself by using the 'Show Certificate' button in the 'Details' tab to determine the serial number of the certificate.
  4. Compare the determined serial number with the certificates listed above.

The installation media for non-Windows operating systems are not signed. Instead, check their hash value. The hash value determined must be compared with the value specified in the associated manufacturer's declaration or in the associated download entry on the intarsys homepage.
