Paulo Pereira, Product Manager

d.velop AG

As a software manufacturer from Gescher, we have developed a product that provides a solution for paperless signing. The product digitally maps the analogue signature process and thus reduces the time required for signing enormously. The digital signature permanently and sustainably saves resources, money and time. The implementation takes place with the appropriate IT support from intarsys.

Description & challenges of the desired solution

The solution currently consists of a first selection of functionalities. It is possible to map the digital signature process, including the creation of a qualified electronic signature. The signature creation process and the connection to a trust service provider presented us with a challenge. The independent development of these components would have taken a lot of effort. In order to be able to act quickly despite limited resources, the intarsys solution was deliberately chosen. This maps the entire signature creation process and ensures smooth integration of a trust service provider, in this case Bundesdruckerei. We were therefore able to enter the market early with the product d.velop sign and did not have to develop the entire process independently.

Cornerstones of the solution & project specifics

The electronic signature of d.velop sign forms the last piece of the puzzle in an end-to-end digitization and thus creates the final digital transition of paper-based processes.

In addition, the high process and resource costs of paper-based documents and the processing times are reduced by sending them digitally.

We use the solution Sign Live! cloud suite gears from intarsys. Sign Live! enables remote signatures to be carried out. You can choose between applying the signature in the form of a signature field or a signature stamp. The signature field can be opened with the mouse and positioned anywhere in the document. The signature stamp is generated automatically and has a fixed position in the document.

d.velop sign represents the in the eIDAS regulation defined different types of signatures, the simple signature, advanced signature and qualified signature. For the qualified signature, which is legally valid and the equivalent of a handwritten signature, the signer must authenticate himself at Bundesdruckerei using a VideoIdent procedure or the online ID function. Therefore, the connection to a trust service provider is essential. All three signature types are integrated in the d.velop sign solution by default. An important point is that no hardware components such as TAN generators or signature pads are required for signing and the remote signature is therefore fully mapped. In addition, the user has the option of retrieving documents via mobile phone, tablet and PC.

By using Sign Live! clous suite gears, the product was able to be set up quickly and brought to the market at an early stage. Early market entry makes it possible to collect regular feedback in order to determine and implement customer needs.

Why intarsys?

Sign Live! clous suite gears includes the sub-process of signature creation and the connection of different trust services and trust service providers in the product d.velop sign. The solution allows prefabricated process parts to be used with little development effort. Sign Live! provides the electronic trust service provider chosen by us, Bundesdruckerei, in accordance with the eIDAS regulation. In addition, intarsys takes over the further development, maintenance and support work for this signature application. For us, this means a great deal of time savings and relief in the first development stage. The product Sign Live! makes other features available, not all of which have been used by us.
