Status quo in Germany and Austria
(PresseBox) (Berlin, September 10.09.2024, XNUMX) The eID (electronic identity) is a digital identification system that is intended to enable users to prove their identity securely and unambiguously online. From 2026, it will be accessible to all EU citizens via a digital wallet. The new TeleTrusT podcast "Digital Identity" presents the implementation of this in Europe using a comparison between Austria and Germany.
In the now published TeleTrusT podcast "Digital Identity", moderator Carsten Vossel (CCVOSSEL) and interview guests Dr. Markus Vesely (A-Trust) and Markus Schuster (intarsys) cover the following topics, among others:
-
- What is the status quo of digital identity?
- What are the differences between Austria and Germany regarding implementation?
- What measures has Austria taken to facilitate the transition from analogue to digital identification?
- Will the eID also help with business identification?
- What obstacles are there in Germany that make digitalization difficult?
Dr. Markus Vesely, CEO of A-Trust: "The introduction and ongoing development of digital identity in Austria, from the citizen card to the mobile phone signature to ID Austria, impressively shows how high acceptance among the population can be achieved through user-friendliness, wide application possibilities and the highest security standards. These technologies have not only become indispensable tools in everyday life, but are also crucial for the future viability of digital transactions and identification processes."
Markus Schuster, Sales Manager at intarsys: "The use of eID and trust services will continue to gain in importance in digitalization. This is not only due to the fact that we want to ensure legal certainty in many processes, but also to ensure trust in digital documents."
