Crises - stumbling block or catalyst for digitization in NRW?
The corona pandemic has drastically made it clear to us that the data management at the health authorities is not sufficient for crisis requirements. The public administration, with its already scarce staffing levels, had to deal with additional tasks under difficult conditions - working from home, illness of employees, contact restrictions. A large part of the communication within the administration and externally with citizens and companies has shifted to the online world within a few weeks. All of this generated additional demand for IT services. The extent to which administrations and public IT service providers were able to meet this new demand in a timely manner and whether new concepts for IT development have emerged from this is to be explored at this year's e-nrw specialist congress.
