Bad Homburg / Taucha / Karlsruhe, November 30, 2021: procilon, based in Taucha near Leipzig GROUP GmbH (“procilon”) acquired the majority in intarsys GmbH (“intarsys”) in November 2021. The acquisition was supported by the majority shareholder of procilon, Harald Quandt Industriebeteiligungen GmbH ("HQIB").

Since it was founded in 1996, the Karlsruhe software house intarsys has become one of the leading manufacturers of solutions for everything to do with electronic trust services, such as signatures, seals, time stamps, verification and retention services and PDF/ A implementations developed. Intarsys software products are used by numerous companies and institutions, primarily in the DA-CH-Area used. With Karl Kagermeier, Dr. Bernd Wild and Michael Traut, the company founders will remain on board as minority shareholders and will continue to work in positions of responsibility for the company. Procilon company founder Steffen Scholz provides additional support on an interim basis in the newly created position as a group CEO. The parties have agreed not to disclose any further details of the transaction.
